So hidden is this tranquil beach destination that some locals have no idea of its exact location. As a traveller, and especially if you are looking to go off the beaten track, take it upon yourself to make the adventurous discovery.

To get to this beach, head out to Jimbaran Village in Jimbaran. On arrival, you will proceed to an area known as Tegal from where you can catch panoramic views of the ocean, jaw-dropping cliffs and beautiful natural scenery. For those who are up to the challenge, hike the cliffs as you will get breathtaking views of the region.

The cliffs are also a vantage point for those amazing photography shots, so go ahead and try your hand at snapping away your vacation’s most memorable moments. The scenery of Tegal Wangi Beach makes it perfect for a destination wedding and other special events.

Whatever you do, do not forget to enjoy the marvellous sunset. The sky comes alive with different hues, making the perfect background for a reflective walk on the shores. If you prefer to be out in the water, try your hand at fishing under the guidance of local fishermen for a true village experience.

Most people get to Tegal Wangi Beach using their own motorbike, but you can also take a taxi. There are many metered taxis in Bali, particularly in the tourist areas of Denpasar, Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, Ubud and Nusa Dua. Finding a taxi is extremely easy as taxis usually crawl along the main road beeping at tourists. Make sure to get a taxi with a meter, look for the Bluebird Group taxis, otherwise ensure you negotiate a price before getting in. As a guide, a 5km trip will cost around 40,000-50,000 IDR ($4-$5 AUD or $3-$4 USD).
