Bali has three rivers where you can go rafting; the Melangit River, the Ayung River and the Telaga Waja River.

Melangit River is located in Klungkung, about one and a half hours from Kuta. The river’s gentle rapids make it ideal for novices and those travelling with families. The total distance you can go rafting is about 8kms, which is adequate for you to enjoy an exciting adventure as you meander through Bali’s beautiful landscape.

Ayung River is one of the locations is ideal for rafting, thanks to its width and length. However, unlike Melangit River, this river’s rapids are stronger, making it unsuitable for young kids. Beginners can take an organised tour down these rapids with expert guides.

Telaga Waja River is a favourite for outdoor enthusiasts as it is the widest of the three and has greater rapids. At close to 16kms long, there is much more to enjoy when rafting on this river. This river is in Karangasem, a couple of hours from Kuta.

Rafting tours include all the equipment you will need, plus some safety training before you head out on your journey. Many tour operators also offer lunch and transfers as part of their packages.
