Lombok

Lombok Indonesia is situated in West Nusa Tengarra, and is a popular day trip location for people travelling to Bali who love to visit the popular Gili Islands.

Not much is known about the island’s history, particularly before the 17th Century. In subsequent years, the island would be the site of conflict between invading forces from Japan as well as control from the Dutch army. After independence, the island was integrated as part of the West Nusa Tenggara. In the early 21st Century, religious riots between Christians and Chinese natives brought the tourism industry to its knees. Growth has been steady over the past few years, making the island an ideal destination.
