Medewi Beach

Medewi Beach is a tranquil beach located in west Bali and is best known for its amazing surfing sites. It is also a remote location about 75kms from Denpasar.

The beach is one of the most popular destinations for both local and foreign visitors. Long swell and large waves are perfect for those who would like to experience the adrenaline rush that comes from surfing.

The relaxed environment makes Medewi Beach an excellent choice for those who would like to relax away from the busy tourist areas of Kuta or Seminyak. The cool sea breeze makes strolling on the beach such an enjoyable experience and it is also an ideal spot to watch the sunset with perfect panoramic views for a romantic evening in Bali. Due to its rocky nature, the beach is not ideal for sunbathing.

A tour to Medewi Beach would be incomplete without watching the local fishermen stream in with their morning catch. The advantage of doing so is that it is easy to get fresh fish and seafood which you can then have prepared in your style at any of the warungs (food stalls) that dot the beach. Warung Bagus is worth checking out for local delicacies.

Medewi Beach is located in Jembrana Regency, and more specifically, in Pekutatan. An excellent road network makes it possible to get to the beach in any type of car. It takes about 3 hours from Denpasar Airport, so you may wish to hire a private driver rather than a taxi as it will likely be cheaper.
