This temple is located in Gelgel Village, Klungkung. It is not typically a tourist attraction but used as solely a place of worship.

Pura Dasar Worship Temple Bali Location, Entry Fee & Dress Code

Around 300 years ago when Gelgel was home to the Royal Palace, the temple drew devout locals from all of Bali. The royal family members also worshipped at the temple, something that goes to show the popularity of the temple grounds.

Just like the ‘Mother Temple’, this temple is an ancestral centre of worship. The best thing about visiting this temple is that it is open to all worshippers regardless of social status. There are several festivals held at this temple, generally in March and October.

During these festivals, the temple comes alive with vibrant sights and sounds which will be a great experience for travellers during this time.

This temple is free to enter, although donations are gratefully accepted. Visitors must also ensure that they wear a sarong to cover knees and ankles and make sure that shoulders and midriffs are covered.
