Hiking on the mountain is quite popular with foreigners and is a good place to start in discovering the island’s hidden treasures. The mountain is home to many bird species, making it an exciting location to go bird watching. Look out for the endangered Bali Startling. The mountain slopes are also home to many different plant species that create a lush landscape.

The entrance to the national park is located at Cekik, which is also the same location for the park’s headquarters. An admission fee is payable here. A permit to enter the park costs Rp 40,000 per person.

Make sure you bring your own food and water, as there is nothing available for sale once you enter the national park.

You can get to the park via car or motorbike from the northern coast road via Lovina (90 mins) or Pemuteran (15 mins). If travelling from the south, you can travel via Gilimanuk (about 15 minutes).
