Green Bowl Beach

Green Bowl Beach is a stunning location located on the southern point of Bali, yet remains relatively unknown to the average traveller.

The location is quite rugged, therefore to get here you will have to navigate some rugged roads and forested areas.

Green Bowl Beach Bali, Hotel Accommodation, Resorts & Villas

Green Bowl Beach is called this because there is a large presence of green rocks which can be seen during low-tide. The waters at this part of the beach make it conducive for algae to thrive, giving the beach a characteristic green colour.

One of the most fascinating things about the beach is that in addition to its pristine environment, the beach is also home to numerous bats that live in the nearby caves.

You can get to Green Bowl beach by motorcycle or taxi. There are many metered taxis in Bali, particularly in the tourist areas of Denpasar, Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, Ubud and Nusa Dua. Finding a taxi is extremely easy as taxis usually crawl along the main road beeping at tourists. Make sure to get a taxi with a meter, look for the Bluebird Group taxis, otherwise ensure you negotiate a price before getting in. As a guide, a 5km trip will cost around 40,000-50,000 IDR ($4-$5 AUD or $3-$4 USD).
