It is interesting to note that the temple has not always been a popular place for visitors. It has undergone several renovations, most significantly with the relocation of the temple to the peak of the hill. This change was done to improve the worship of the Hindu god.

The word pura translates to ‘temple’, so foreigners will find that Pura Rambut Siwi is used interchangeably with Rambut Siwi Temple. The temple’s day to day operations is carried out by locals who volunteer to work at the temple, an important aspect especially during religious festivals when many devout locals throng the temple.

Even with such absolutely stunning views, this is one of the temples that doesn’t get as crowded. So if you are looking for a quiet place to get away, look no further than Negara’s biggest temple.

The entrance fee is around 20,000 IDR and visitors must ensure that they wear a sarong to cover knees and ankles. Also, make sure that shoulders and midriffs are covered. If you do not have a sarong, one will be provided for you at no charge.
